Best of the Web Contest
The MS-ISAC conducted its second annual Best of the Web contest to recognize state and local governments that use their websites to promote cyber security. The MS-ISAC Education and Awareness Workgroup reviewed and judged state and local government cyber security websites based upon several criteria, including cyber security content, usability, accessibility, and appearance, The goal was to highlight commendable sites and serve as best practices for others to consider when developing or re-designing their own sites. Â The 2010 winners were the State of Delaware and the City of Seattle.
Delaware's Cyber Security website offers the latest information on cyber security news, events, videos and tools. A special section for kids provides links to games, puzzles, and videos designed to protect them from cyber bullying and online predators. The Parent's Page provides direct access to resources for keeping children safe on the Internet. There is also a notification service, where visitors can sign up for email Security alerts and advisories.
The City of Seattle's Information Security Homepage is designed to help Seattle citizens and other visitors to the site learn what they can do to help protect against the many emerging threats found in today's computer and network environments both in the workplace and at home. The site features Information Security Bulletins, Security newsletters and tips, and provides the capability to subscribe to an RSS feed and a mailing list for up-to-date cyber security information.
